I was told my RAF career was over

They sent us a worn out Lancaster

We heard a shot, and knew that the escape had been discovered

I could barely walk, let alone fight

I followed my brother into the RAF

You could eat snakes, monkeys, rats and boars if you could catch them

I'll remember his name til the day I die

My eyes were opened to a whole new world

I was meeting people from all over the country

I got up at one in the morning to write a song

We currently have two people with experience of flying onto our carriers
